Important Year-End Information for Parents/Guardians

Important information for parents/guardians as we approach the end of the 2019-2020 school year:

Final Report Cards – Elementary and Secondary Schools

All final report cards will be mailed via Canada Post, as follows:

  • At elementary schools, report cards will be mailed on June 26, 2020.  A Digital Parent Information Sheet will be shared with parents by the school and posted to the Parent Learning Hub on the Board website at https://hub.sccdsb.net/  This resource will help guide parents through the June report card and the changes in reporting due to the COVID-19 school closure.
  • At secondary schools – Grade 9-11 report cards and Grade 12 report cards and transcripts will be mailed out the first week of July.

IMPORTANT: If you have moved within the past school year, especially since March 13, and the school is not aware of your new address, you must contact the school office to update your home address as soon as possible.

Ontario Secondary School Diplomas

The Ministry of Education has put on hold until further notice its distribution of secondary school diplomas to Ontario high schools.  This means secondary schools have not yet received the diplomas, which are normally distributed to graduates in June.  Graduating students and families will be contacted once the timelines have been finalized by the ministry and the diplomas are delivered to secondary schools, which is not likely until schools reopen in the fall.

Return of Board-owned technology

Students who received Board-owned technology after the school shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic may still require it through the summer – licences have been extended through July for those using LEXIA; and some students have enrolled in Virtual Summer Learning Camp.  The Board will develop a plan for the return of Board-owned devices through the summer and families will be contacted at a later date.  In the meantime, we ask that you please take good care of the devices and invite you to continue to use the technology through the summer to supplement learning.

Any students who no longer require technology, because they are graduating or not returning to a St. Clair Catholic school, should return the equipment at the end of June.  Please contact your school principal.
