September Ready Update #7

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board has received approval from the Ministry of Education for its secondary school model.  In the approved Conventional Quadmester model, all secondary students attend school in-person for a full day (300 instructional minutes) Monday to Friday.  Students will take two courses at a time for a 10 week period, in an alternating week schedule.  Students will take the first subject for a full day, each day, for one week.  Students will take the second subject for a full day, each day, the following week.  Students will alternate courses week by week for the remainder of the quadmester.

Due to the large enrolments at our two secondary schools, and our commitment to the health and safety of students and staff, the Quadmester model was developed to reduce student contact by limiting students to a single cohort per week. The timetable was designed to limit direct and indirect student contacts to approximately 100 students per week.  This plan was approved by the Ministry of Education as it achieves the instructional and contact requirements, as outlined in Ministry documents and advised by Public Health Ontario.

  • Quadmester 1 runs from September 8 – November 11, 2020
  • School will begin and end at regular times

Timetables and scheduling information will be communicated to parents/guardians and students by the school.

Now that we have received approval from the Ministry of Education, we are finalizing our Return to School Plan.  It will be posted to the #SeptemberReady page of the Board website.
