Thanksgiving Message from Director of Education Deb Crawford

Dear Families,

As Thanksgiving approaches, even in this year of a global pandemic, we have much to be thankful for.  Our schools have reopened – students and staff are back, either in-person or in our new virtual Remote Learning School.  Despite the challenges of COVID-19, our dedicated staff continues to provide an excellent Catholic education for our students.  For that, we are grateful.

Our students are thankful to be back, too!  Here’s what some of them have to say about the joys of being back at school!

We are also thankful to you – our parents and guardians.  Thank you for your ongoing support during these uncertain times.  We know there have been lots of adjustments – new health and safety routines in schools, new classroom practices, and for students in the Remote Learning School, new ways to learn.  But as we continue to work together – the school and home with the prayerful support of our parishes – we are helping our students to be successful in learning and growing in their life of faith in Jesus … what a blessing!

During this time when the words ‘change’ and ‘adapt’ and ‘pivot’ are so much a part of our daily lives, it is important that we draw close to the One who never changes – our God.  He is the same yesterday, today and for eternity.  His promise to us is that He will never leave us nor forsake us and that He will bless us with His peace … and that is something for which we can all be truly thankful.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace.  And be thankful.
Colossians 3:15

Like so many holidays and events this year, Thanksgiving 2020 won’t be quite the same; but as we gather with our families, as much as we are able, let’s give thanks for His promise of peace for us and for each other.  Have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!

Blessings to you,

Deb Crawford
