Holy Family Students Receive More than $20,000 in New Books Thanks to First Book Canada

Students at Holy Family Catholic School in Wallaceburg are the recipients of $20,000 in books, thanks to First Book Canada.

A team of teachers led by Mr. Dan Rolo wrote a grant application that was approved by the organization, which works to bring literacy resources to the broader community.

Students at Holy Family Catholic School in Wallaceburg unpack more than $20,000 in books, thanks to a grant by First Book Canada.

“First Book Canada was so impressed by our application that they approved Holy Family for their pallet book initiative, which provided more than 2,000 brand new books for the school,” says Mark Bernard, Principal of Holy Family Catholic School.  “Special thanks to Mr. Rolo and his team for their outstanding work on this project!”

The shipment from First Book Canada has arrived at the school and the books have been distributed to the students.

“This project is all about getting books into the hands of kids to help develop that love of reading,” says Mr. Bernard.  “Having access to more reading material will be a tremendous experience for our students and families.”
