The flag at the Catholic Education Centre in Wallaceburg is lowered to half mast for Sunday, December 6, 2020 to mark the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
Each year, this observance highlights the issue of gender-based violence and encourages Canadians to learn from events of the past and speak up against harmful behaviour.
December 6, 2020 marks 31 years since 14 young women were murdered at Polytechnique Montreal, which led the Canadian Parliament to designate December 6 as the National Day of Remembrance and Action.
We pray for women and their families around the world, who have suffered gender-based violence and aggression.
