Dear Parents/Guardians and Staff:
The Ontario Minister of Education announced today that students in school boards within the jurisdictions of four additional public health units will return to in-person classroom instruction on February 1, 2021. However, the Chatham-Kent and Lambton health units were not included. This means on-line learning will continue for students at St. Clair Catholic.
The Minister of Education had previously announced that the on-line learning would continue up to and including February 10, 2021. We expect a further announcement before that date.
The decision regarding which school boards are permitted to return to in-person classroom learning is made by the Ontario government, based on data and advice provided by the province’s Chief Medical Officer of Health.
We know these are difficult and challenging days for students, staff and families. St. Clair Catholic is here to offer support. For more information regarding the Board’s many mental health resources, please visit the Board website at https://www.st-clair.net/mental-health-home.aspx
We await further direction from the Ontario government and will update you as soon as we have new information. In the meantime, as always, please continue to follow the advice of our public health partners as we all do our best to keep ourselves and our families safe.
Sincerely,
Deb Crawford
Director of Education
