Ursuline College Student Receives Provincial Recognition from CPCO

Ursuline College student Victoria Frias has been awarded the Catholic Principals’ Council of Ontario (CPCO) Student Scholarship.  This annual award is presented to a graduating student who best exemplifies strength and passion in the areas of service, advocacy and leadership.

“Victoria is an amazing young woman and worthy recipient for this honour,” says Ray Power, Principal of Ursuline College Chatham Catholic Secondary School.  “It is fitting that her work in the Church and with the Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario has been recognized in this way.”

Victoria says she finds joy in strengthening her connection to God, through her work in the Church and with the Catholic Women’s League.

“Knowing I’m benefiting those in my community while collaborating alongside women of example to me, brings me happiness, as we all work together to make a difference in our community,” Victoria wrote in her application.  Regarding her work with the Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario, Victoria says, “Being able to assist a child in their development, as a mentor, allows me to learn and explore alongside them in their journey.”

Victoria will be formally recognized at the CPCO Annual Gala on April 23, 2021, which will be held virtually this year.
