St. Clair Catholic extends a warm welcome to Dan Edwards, who is giving virtual classroom presentations (grades 2-12) to support student resilience and wellbeing. Dan is a motivational speaker, co-author, and mental health advocate living in Sarnia, Ontario, and he focuses his speaking opportunities on how his life was impacted after suffering a spinal cord injury.
Especially given the current challenges involving COVID-19, we are honoured to have Dan share with students his own journey through his personal “pandemic” that he went through, and how he continues to persevere. “Dan is an inspiration,” says Deb Crawford, Director of Education. “His personal journey demonstrates strength, courage and perseverance against tremendous challenges. We are thankful that he willingly shares his story as an encouragement to others.”
More than 20 grade three classrooms tuned in to Dan’s latest talk, where he discussed three key tools that continuously help him face adversity in his life. Dan also encouraged students to focus on the positives in life. “Count one thing that you do have in your life each day”, he explained, “because you will find there will be countless things”.
