Being Prepared as the April Break Approaches

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As we look forward to the April break next week, we are again taking the precautionary measure of sending home technology with students who require it.  As of today, we have no indication that we will not be returning as scheduled on April 19.  However, we want to do our best to be prepared for a switch to online learning, if required.

Therefore, we would ask all students to bring home with them any personal items on Thursday, April 8, except those items that they will need on Friday. Schools will also be sending home devices for students, as required.  Please remember to bring them back to school on Monday, April 19.  We are taking this action on Thursday to allow one day’s grace for anyone who forgets. Your child will still have the option to bring materials home on Friday.

Again, this is a precautionary measure only.  We look forward to seeing everyone back in class following the April break on Monday, April 19.  In the meantime, let’s all remember to follow the emergency measures announced today by the Province of Ontario on the advice of our public health partners.  By following these important public safety guidelines, we are doing our part to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Please continue to visit the Board website. Any updates will be posted to the COVID-19 Update page and Newsdesk.

Have a restful April break!

Sincerely,
Deb Crawford
Director of Education
