Each year in Canada, April 28 marks the National Day of Mourning for workers who have died, been injured or became ill because of their jobs.
The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety is committed to protecting workers and preventing further workplace tragedies.
The flag at the Catholic Education Centre has been lowered to half staff to mark this important day, as we remember the thousands of workers who have been killed, injured or suffer illness as a result of work-related events.
We also hold in our prayers the many families and friends who have been deeply affected by these tragedies.
