Important Information: Remote Learning to Continue for Remainder of School Year

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The Ontario government has directed that online remote learning will continue across the province for the remainder of the school year.  That means that all publicly funded elementary and secondary schools, including those of the St. Clair Catholic District School Board, will remain closed to in-person classroom learning until September 2021.

You can read today’s announcement in the Ontario government media release.

I know this news will be a disappointment for many – staff and parents/guardians alike.  We were looking forward to seeing our students back in our classrooms before the end of the year.  However, we must rely on the Ontario government’s direction, based on advice from the Science Advisory Table, that reopening schools now could lead to an increase in new COVID-19 cases.  As it has been since the beginning of the pandemic, our first priority is the health and safety of our students and staff.

We will continue our work to provide the finest Catholic education possible in the final weeks of the 2020-2021 school year.  As always, thank you for your support, as together we work in the best interests of our children.

Sincerely,

Deb Crawford
Director of Education
