The Class of 2021 at St. Patrick’s Catholic High School celebrated a virtual graduation on Saturday, June 12, 2021, that began with a 10:00 a.m. Mass and ended with an 8:15 p.m. video tribute that highlighted the students’ time together.
“I want to thank our entire staff for their great work in producing this day-long event, which honoured our students at the end of a very challenging school year,” says Chris Kehoe, Principal of St. Patrick’s Catholic High School.
Following the morning Mass, a graduation parade was attended by more than 265 students and their families. From 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., St. Patrick’s staff lined the parade route. Students walked across a fully decorated graduation stage, where they received their diploma and a professional photograph was taken. The event was live-streamed to family members in Sarnia and around the world.
“A highlight of our graduation was a final act of giving for our 2021 grads — a tradition that began last year,” says Mr. Kehoe. “We want to give our graduates one final opportunity to give back to their community, which is a deep-rooted and lasting legacy here at St. Patrick’s.”
More than 400 pounds of food was collected, in addition to $1,300 in cash donations, which was donated to the Inn of the Good Shepherd.
The day ended with a video tribute, which celebrated the graduates’ four years together at St. Patrick’s Catholic High School.
The virtual events accumulated more than 2,100 views.
