The Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Port Lambton has surpassed all expectations, raising $9,200 – that’s the third-highest ranking for schools in Ontario and the number seven spot for all of Canada.
“It was an awesome event,” says Courtney Mellow, Principal of Sacred Heart Catholic School in Port Lambton. “Our students, our staff and our entire community really turned out to support us this year, because we were doing it for Seth. He has inspired us to go all the way!”
Grade 5 student Seth Nottley is currently in hospital in Toronto recovering from cardiac arrest, which occurred on the playground at school. He continues to make good progress after his most recent surgery, as he continues to heal and recover.
“We’re keeping Seth and his family in our prayers,” says Ms. Mellow. “We can’t wait until he’s back with us at school!”
Money raised during the Jump Rope for Heart event will be donated to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Association, which also plans to include Seth as a focus of their 2022 development strategy for Jump Rope for Heart.
An interview between Seth and Ms. Mellow was included in a virtual assembly for students and staff today.
