Dear Parents/Guardians and Secondary School Students:
Based on the most current information and guidance from the Ministry of Education, and in collaboration with the Medical Officers of Health for Sarnia-Lambton and Chatham-Kent, St. Clair Catholic will adopt a four-credit per semester secondary timetable for September 2021.
Under this model, students will take Period 1 classes during the morning and Period 2 classes in the afternoon during week one; then in week two switch to Period 3 classes in the morning and Period 4 classes in the afternoon. Each class will be 150 minutes in duration. This model is a step towards a more normalized secondary school calendar and allows students to earn four credits over a semester.
Mon | Tue | Wed | Thurs. | Fri | |
AM | Period 1 | Period 1 | Period 1 | Period 1 | Period 1 |
PM | Period 2 | Period 2 | Period 2 | Period 2 | Period 2 |
Mon | Tue | Wed | Thurs. | Fri | |
AM | Period 3 | Period 3 | Period 3 | Period 3 | Period 3 |
PM | Period 4 | Period 4 | Period 4 | Period 4 | Period 4 |
Planning for this revised secondary timetable is now underway. Of course, as we have become all too aware throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, circumstances can change abruptly. The Board will be prepared to revise and update the schedule based on the latest guidance and direction from the Ministry of Education and Public Health Ontario.
More information will be provided by your secondary school prior to the start of the school year.
We look forward with hopeful optimism to the 2021-2022 school year. In the meantime, have a great summer!
Sincerely,
Deb Crawford
Director of Education
