Former St. Vincent Catholic School Listed for Sale on the Open Market

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board has listed the former St. Vincent Catholic School property, at 9399 McNaughton Line, Chatham, for sale on the open market.

Under Ontario Regulation 444/98 – Disposition of Surplus Real Property, boards of education must first offer surplus property to an approved list of public sector agencies.  That process has been completed with no expressions of interest.  The Board will now proceed with an RFO (request for offers) to the general public.

“The requirements as set out in O. Reg. 444/98 have been met and the Board will now move forward with an RFO to place the former St. Vincent property on the open market,” says Amy Janssens, Associate Director – Corporate Services & Treasurer.

All documents regarding the former St. Vincent property can be found on the St. Clair Catholic District School Board website at https://www.st-clair.net/bid-opportunities.aspx. Any questions regarding the property can be forwarded to purchasing@st-clair.net

The former St. Vincent Catholic School became surplus to the Board’s needs with the opening of the new St. Angela Merici Catholic School on McNaughton Avenue, W. in Chatham, in September 2020.

One further surplus property remains and will also be sold on the open market.  Offering dates are yet to be determined for the Monsignor Uyen Catholic School site, located at 255 Lark Street, Chatham.  The school closed at the end of June 2021.  Students and staff will relocate to the new site of Monsignor Uyen Catholic School, on Baldoon Road in September 2021.
