Important Information for Parents/Guardians and Secondary Students Regarding Daily Screening for COVID-19

The Ontario government has updated the daily screening tool for students, staff and essential visitors to schools and child care settings.  The updated screening tool can be found on the Board website.

Each day, every child in your household must complete the daily provincial COVID-19 screening before attending school.

The Ministry of Education has directed that for the first two weeks of school, secondary students and parents/guardians of elementary students will be required to confirm that the daily screening has been completed and students are cleared to attend school.

At the secondary level, the process will be the same as last year with students confirming when they report to class that they have taken and passed the screening.  In elementary schools, beginning on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 parents/guardians will receive a daily email, which will include the link to a form for each student in your household.  The form is to be completed each day for each student before they attend school.  Using the provided link, parents/guardians will submit confirmation that the daily self-screening was completed and the student(s) may attend class.

If your child is in JK/SK, you may receive the daily screening email starting on Tuesday, September 7.  However, you only need to begin reporting your child’s daily screening on their scheduled first day of school.

If you have any questions, please contact your child’s school.
