Dear Parents/Guardians,
The Ontario government has updated the daily screening tool for students, staff and essential visitors, which is to be completed for each student each day, when schools return to in-person classroom learning. The new daily screening tool can be found here.
On the recommendation of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, a more sensitive COVID-19 symptom list is being reinstated for daily active screening. Anyone who has symptoms suggestive of COVID-19, or is a confirmed positive case, must self-isolate regardless of vaccination status. These strengthened screening requirements are another way to help protect students and staff from COVID-19.
Updated testing and isolation guidelines are also reflected in the new screener.
Parents/guardians should review the new screener prior to the return to in-person classroom learning. Please remember that daily confirmation of screening for each student will be required by parents/guardians of elementary students; and for all secondary students, when in-person classroom learning resumes.
St. Clair Catholic will continue to follow the advice and guidance of the Ontario Ministry of Education, Public Health Ontario and our local public health partners in all matters related to COVID-19, as together we work to protect the health and safety of all students and staff.
Sincerely,
Scott Johnson
Director of Education
