Family Literacy Day, held annually on January 27, was developed by ABC Life Literacy Canada in 1999 to celebrate adults and children reading and learning together, and to encourage Canadian families to spend at least 15 minutes a day enjoying a learning activity together. This year the theme for Family Literacy Day 2022 is Learning in the Great Outdoors. Spending time in nature provides many benefits, not just for bodies, but for minds too. This year, get outside and exercise both your mind and body together as a family.
At St. Clair Catholic, we will celebrate Family Literacy Day through various classroom literacy activities connected to the great outdoors! We offer many opportunities for parents to connect with literacy and nature.
How will you celebrate? Visit the SCCDSB Parent Learning Hub for lots of ideas.
