St. Joseph Corunna Students Partner with Blackburn Media to Share Positive Messages

Students in the Grade 6/7 and 7/8 classes at St. Joseph Catholic School in Corunna have written and recorded positive, uplifting messages, which will be broadcast on Blackburn Radio in Sarnia beginning Monday, April 4th.

“Throughout the year, our students have explored various ways to support their own mental health, while also looking to inspire others to keep a positive, healthy attitude in their daily lives,” says Daniel Cicchelli, Grade 7/8 teacher at St. Joseph Catholic School.

“This was a tremendous opportunity for our students to share their messages with the wider community and also to learn about the medium of radio at the same time,” says Grade 6/7 teacher Eric Babcock.

Branded as “mindful messages” the public service announcements were recorded by the students and produced by Blackburn, to include an announcer extro, which credits the students with “…encouraging hope and positivity in our community.”

“I want to thank George Hayes and the great staff at Blackburn Media for providing our students with this amazing opportunity to extend our learning beyond the classroom and for helping us to share these positive messages with the community,” says Colleen Cogghe, Principal, St. Joseph Catholic School.
