Georges P. Vanier Student Walks from Chatham to Windsor to Raise Money for Children’s Hospital

Josh Taylor, a Grade 8 student at Georges P. Vanier Catholic School has walked from Chatham to Windsor to raise more than $6,500 in donations for the Children’s Hospital of London.

Josh’s class was participating in its annual Kingdom Assignment, in which students find ways to ‘pay it forward’ and make a difference in the lives of others.  Josh says he wanted to do something to help Children’s Hospital, because both his younger brother and sister have been treated there.

The 72 km walk, from the Prairie Siding Bridge to Windsor took place on Sunday, April 10th.  Pledges are still coming in and so far the total has surpassed $6,500.  A final tally won’t be known until the weekend.  A special cheque presentation is planned to take place at Children’s Hospital at a later date.

Watch below to hear Josh’s reaction to the tremendous support he has received.

Mom Sandra Glover and Dad Justin Taylor say they’re proud of Josh for his initiative to help raise money for such a worthy cause.
