Award-Winning Singer and Songwriter Susan Aglukark to Perform at Ursuline College Theatre

Susan Aglukark is coming to the UCC Theatre.  The award-winning singer and songwriter’s performance NOMAD: Correcting the Narrative, is a free 60 minute singing and speaking presentation of Inuit history in Canada.

Through songs, stories, film, photos and music videos, NOMAD takes the audience on a journey experienced by the Canadian Inuit over the past several thousand years, shedding light on the psychological and cultural impacts of rapid change in Canada’s north.  It is also the story of resilience and determination of a people who have maintained quiet dignity, despite near annihilation by disease and shifting norms, due to colonization and the trauma of Residential Schools.  NOMAD is a story of healing and learning.

The presentation is scheduled for Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at the Ursuline College Theatre.  It is appropriate for audiences aged 13 and older.  Those interested must register here by September 11, 2022.
