‘Walk with God’ Pollinator Garden Completed at St. Joseph Catholic School, Corunna

A new pollinator garden has been created at St. Joseph Catholic School in Corunna.  The Walk with God garden is an area for students to gather and learn about the importance of pollinators, explore the beauty of nature and reflect on all of God’s blessings.

The garden was dedicated at a recent ceremony, with Father Matthew Bedard leading a beautiful prayer and blessing of the ground.  Kindergarten students sang He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands, with a special verse included about pollinators.  Mr. Nick Alexander, of St. Clair Township, spoke to the children about the types of plants and pollinator insects that we will expect to see in the garden.

Special thanks to St. Clair Township, which supplied materials and expertise for the development of the garden; and Grade 3/4 teacher Maureen Houston, who led the initiative.
