John Van Heck returns as Chair of the St. Clair Catholic District School Board for 2023, a position he has held since 2016. He was acclaimed to the position at the Inaugural Meeting of the Board for the 2022-2026 term. David Argenti was acclaimed to the position of Vice Chair of the Board. It is Mr. Argenti’s first term as Vice Chair. He was first elected to the Board of Trustees in 2018.
In accepting their nominations for the positions, both Mr. Van Heck and Mr. Argenti expressed appreciation to their colleagues on the Board of Trustees for their support.
“My heart lies in Catholic education,” says Mr. Van Heck. “My work with our Board is dedicated to helping to uphold the tremendous integrity, respect and honour with which our senior administration and staff support our students and families across the system.”
“As an active member of my community and my Catholic community, I have many opportunities to showcase the great work of our Board,” says Mr. Argenti. “I look forward to supporting our Board and our Chair in this new term.”
Tonight’s meeting was the first for Jann Tooshkenig, who was acclaimed to the position of Catholic Trustee through the 2022 municipal election process. Ms. Tooshkenig replaces Carol Bryden, who has stepped down after 16 years representing the ratepayers of East Kent and St. Clair and Dawn-Euphemia Townships.
Elections for the positions of Chair and Vice Chair are held annually. The term of office for both positions expires in December 2023.
