Annual Irish Miracle Set for Saturday, December 3rd

Student volunteer canvassers from St. Patrick’s Catholic High School will fan out across Sarnia neighbourhoods on Saturday, December 3rd, as the annual Irish Miracle hits the streets.

Student volunteers will gratefully accept donations of non-perishable food items and hygiene products.  Students will knock on doors between 9:00 a.m. and noon.  Donations can also be left in bags on the front porch for pick-up.

“Irish Miracle is one of the most generous ways that I am able to give back to a community that has given to and taught me so much,” says Olivia Thomas, one of the Irish Miracle Committee Student Co-chairs.

“Irish Miracle is always such a special time of the school year,” says Student Co-Chair Annabelle Rayson.  “It is such an important event for our school and greater community and really helps to build the holiday spirit.”

All donated items will support the St. Vincent de Paul annual Christmas hamper program.

The collected items are returned to St. Patrick’s Catholic High School, where they are sorted, boxed and shipped to St. Vincent de Paul.  Knights of Columbus volunteers provide canvassers with a free hot breakfast after they return to the school.

Anyone in the community interested in participating in Irish Miracle can contact staff organizer Vanessa Borody by calling the school at 519-332-3976.
