Mayor Darrin Canniff Holds Virtual Information Session with Grade 7 and 8 Students in CK Catholic Schools

There are good jobs right here in Chatham-Kent!

That was the message, as Chatham-Kent Mayor Darrin Canniff held a virtual meeting with more than 450 Grade 7 and 8 students in Chatham-Kent Catholic elementary schools, on Wednesday, December 7, 2022.

“If you remember nothing else about today, we want you to know that we want you to stay in Chatham-Kent,” Mayor Canniff told the students.  “There are huge opportunities for you today and in the future.”

Students signed on to the Google Meet, prepared with questions for the Mayor, about the kinds of jobs that are available and the skills that will be needed.

“There are many opportunities for young people as they grow up,” said the Mayor.  “Virtually every job will be in demand.  The key is to pick your passion and find something you love to do … and you’ll never work a day in your life!”

The event was organized by St. Clair Catholic’s Pathways to Success Teacher Brian Breault.
