500 Volunteers are the Hands and Feet of Christ as St. Patrick’s Catholic High School Achieves Another Successful Irish Miracle

The St. Patrick’s Catholic High School community rallied together on Saturday, December 3, 2022 for another successful Irish Miracle non-perishable food drive in support of the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank.

“About 350 student volunteers and at least 112 parent drivers, along with children of staff and other volunteers made up the more than 500 people, who helped to make this miracle happen,” says Frank Torti, Principal of St. Patrick’s Catholic High School.  “We couldn’t have done it without them!”

Canvassers began returning to the school with donated food items at about 10:30 a.m. and continued through the noon hour.  Sorting continued until about 3:00 p.m. with St. Vincent de Paul volunteers taking truck load after truck load to the organization’s food bank.  On Monday morning, period one and two classes sorted the remaining food items, with five more truck loads going to St. Vincent de Paul.

Special thanks to the Knights of Columbus, who served more than 500 delicious breakfasts to the army of volunteers.
