St. Clair Catholic District School Board Appoints Student Trustees for the 2023-2024 Term

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board has appointed two students to the position of Student Trustee for the 2023-2024 term.  They are:

  • Lily Cole – currently a Grade 11 student at St. Patrick’s Catholic High School, Sarnia
  • Georgia Pitblado – currently a Grade 10 student at Ursuline College Chatham Catholic Secondary School
Lillian (Lily) Cole

Lillian (Lily) Cole is a kind and eager Grade 11 student at St. Patrick’s High School. Lily is active in her faith, which can be seen through her commitment to her home parish of St. Michael, Bright’s Grove and her participation in various school religious ceremonies throughout the year. Currently, at St. Patrick’s, she serves as the Minister of Faith on the Student Council and is always willing to help whenever she can. Lily enjoys drawing, reading, wood carving, Irish dancing, and looks for new learning opportunities as they arise.

Throughout high school, Lily has achieved more than academic success. She has grown immensely by being a member of the Link Crew, the Social Justice Committee, the Curling team, the Student Council, The Almost Corner Store, and the planning committees for Irish Miracle and Cyclone Aid. Lily has also discovered a love for Biology and Psychology through her high school courses. Because of this, Lily would like to further her studies through post-secondary education in the field of Behaviour, Cognition and Neuroscience.

As Lily enters Grade 12 in the upcoming 2023-2024 school year, she is excited to complete her academic journey at St. Patrick’s Catholic High School and is looking forward to taking on the role of Student Trustee, along with any other challenges and opportunities that may come her way.

Georgia Pitblado

Georgia Pitblado is a current Grade 10 student at Ursuline College and has been selected to serve as Student Trustee for the 2023-2024 school year.

In addition to maintaining high academic standards, Georgia is a highly involved Lancer.  She belongs to school clubs and teams including the NTS Drama Festival and UCC Junior Girls basketball.  Georgia has also participated in academically enriching opportunities, such as the Waterloo math contests and our Hackergals program.  As well, Georgia serves our school and local community through the We Scare Hunger food drive and is a leader on our LancerLink crew.

Outside of UCC, Georgia demonstrates an outstanding work ethic by working to achieve

Grade 8 piano, as a dedicated employee at three part-time jobs, and working towards her black belt in Karate.

Georgia has valuable insight into our school through her faith, academics, athletics, and the arts.  As such, Georgia is an excellent representative of UCC’s voice. She is a leader in our school community, exemplifying the Catholic Graduate expectations.

The Board of Trustees affirmed the elections of both Lily Cole and Georgia Pitblado at the Tuesday, March 28, 2023 Regular Board Meeting and appointed them to serve as student trustees for the next term, which runs from August 2023 to June 2024.

“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I would like to welcome these outstanding secondary school leaders and welcome them to the Board table for the 2023-2024 term,” says John Van Heck, Chair of the Board.  “I would also like to thank our current student trustees, Samantha Lozon and Annabelle Rayson, for their fine reports to the Board throughout 2022-2023.  We wish them God’s blessings for much continued success in all their future endeavours.”
