Max Stossel, the founder and CEO of Social Awakening, presented to students and parents of the St. Clair Catholic District School Board at four events in Chatham and Sarnia on April 13 and 14.

“Am I using this technology; or is this technology using me?” is one of the questions Max used to challenge students in the ways they think about and use social media.  “Fifty percent of teens are addicted to their devices; and we are seeing an increase in anxiety and depression, chaos and conflict … how can something so awesome also be creating such a mess.”

Max also provided strategies and ideas to help address some of the worries and fears that families face as a result of social media and its effects on traditional and emotional learning.

The events were co-sponsored by the St. Clair Catholic District School Board and Noelle’s Gift.
