Terry Fox Foundation Expresses Appreciation to St. Clair Catholic Schools

The Terry Fox Foundation has expressed its appreciation to the St. Clair Catholic District School Board and its family of schools for participation in the annual Terry Fox Run.  Fundraising for 2022 totalled more than $40,000.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your family of schools for the incredible effort and dedication shown in raising funds for the 2022 Terry Fox School Run,” the Foundation said in a letter to Director of Education Scott Johnson.  “We are grateful for the leadership of your board to continue encouraging philanthropy.”

“The thanks for this great achievement goes to our students and to the many staff and parent volunteers across the system, who assist with this charitable event every year,” says Mr. Johnson.  “We have all been touched by cancer in some way.  By helping to keep Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope alive, we are contributing to cancer research in the hope that one day the disease can be eradicated.”

Since the Terry Fox school community runs began, St. Clair Catholic schools have contributed more than $1.7 million to the Terry Fox Foundation for cancer research.
