God, you are the source of all love and blessings.
We turn to you in gratitude for the gift of fathers,
formed in your likeness and image, and vessels of your unconditional love.
You entrusted your Son Jesus, to the care of Joseph, his earthly father.
Bless all fathers as they care for their families.
Give them strength and wisdom, tenderness and patience.
In times of struggles, help them to “not be afraid or discouraged –
for you are with them wherever they go”. (Joshua 1:9 adapted)

We acknowledge as well this Father’s Day,
those who walk alongside children with the same caring hands and hearts of fathers –
always ready to serve the needs of those entrusted to their care as role models and mentors.
Pour your abundant blessings upon them.
We know that “Where You guide, You provide. (Isaiah 58:11 adapted)

We remember and honour all fathers who have found their home with you in heaven.
We pray that their children will know the ongoing spiritual presence of their fathers in their lives – an ever-present light along life’s pathway.

We ask this in Jesus’ name, as we pray to his Father and our Spiritual Father:
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Notre Père, qui es aux cieux, que ton nom soit sanctifié,
que ton règne vienne, que ta volonté soit faite sur la terre comme au ciel.
Donne-nous aujourd’hui notre pain de ce jour.
Pardonne-nous nos offenses, comme nous pardonnons aussi à ceux qui nous ont offensés.
Et ne nous laisse pas entrer en tentation mais délivre-nous du Mal. Amen.
