This year, St. Anne Catholic School in Sarnia started its first-ever sewing club, to provide interested students with basic stitches and techniques of the craft. Beginner projects included pin cushions, draw-string bags and wallets. Students also made some pillowcases to donate to Bluewater Health, to provide comfort to children receiving care.
“Thank you to our volunteers, Mary Jo Cocarell and Connie Quinn, for their dedication to student learning and sharing their passion for sewing with us,” says Stephanie Orrange, Principal of St. Anne Catholic School.
The St. Anne sewing club will resume next November.
“We can’t wait to see the creations that the students will come up with, as they grow in experience and knowledge,” says Mrs. Orrange.
