The St. Clair Catholic family gathered recently to celebrate the beginning of the new school year. The system-wide Mass at Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Wallaceburg included students, parents, principals, Catholic Education Centre staff, Trustees and senior administration.
“Each year, our system Mass brings together representatives of our school communities and the Catholic Education Centre as members of the St. Clair Catholic family,” says Scott Johnson, Director of Education. “It is an opportunity to celebrate our faith and give thanks to God for the gift of Catholic education.”
The theme for this year’s Mass aligns with the Board’s Pastoral Plan for 2023-2024 – Called to Love.
Following Mass, students returned to their schools with bibles, which will be presented to all employees hired during the past year. The new employees will receive their bibles at a future school liturgy or prayer service.
The system-wide Mass was celebrated by Father Chris Pietraszko, Pastor of the Kent Lambton Roman Catholic Family of Parishes.
