St. Clair Catholic Prays for All Who Are Impacted by the Conflict in the Middle East

The humanitarian crisis currently unfolding in the Middle East will impact families in Canada and around the world.  Most of us struggle with feelings of helplessness, whenever we are confronted with global events that are outside of our control.  School Mental Health Ontario has developed tip sheets to help people cope with tragic world events.  If you or your child are struggling with feelings of anxiety and need additional support, please check out the resources below, visit the Mental Health and Wellbeing page on the Board website or read the Tragic events response tip sheet.

A Prayer for Vulnerable People in the Middle East

God of infinite mercy and goodness,

Our prayers are with the people of the Middle East and those vulnerable in the region, especially those suffering immense suffering, grief and loss; and to those who have been wounded or taken hostage by Hamas. In this time of crisis, we also extend our prayers to the innocent civilians, including children, who are caught in the midst of this conflict.

In the spirit of unity and hope, we continue to pray for peace, comfort for the afflicted, and an end to violence in the land. We also entrust to you, Lord, all those who are impacted in Canada and around the world, and pray that they may never yield to discouragement, anger or despair, but become encouragers of hope to one another in this challenging time.
Almighty God, guide the nations of the world into the way of justice and truth. We pray through Christ our Lord, Amen.
