Winning Entries Awarded in St. Clair Catholic’s ‘Kindness Week Video Contest’

During the week of November 20th, St. Clair Catholic celebrated Kindness Week.  Throughout the week, prayers, announcements and activities in our Catholic schools focused on kindness.

Classes were also invited to participate in the Board’s Kindness Week Video Contest.

Three videos were singled out as capturing the spirit and essence of kindness, which fosters a positive outlook and promotes a greater sense of inclusion, improved health and self-esteem, and less stress.

The winning entries were:  St. Anne Catholic School, Sarnia; St. Elizabeth Catholic School, Wallaceburg; and Holy Trinity Catholic School, Sarnia.  Winning classes were treated to a pizza party, courtesy of the Board.  Runners up received ice cream bars.

“Thank you to all of our students, whose work demonstrates the power of kindness,” says Scott Johnson, Director of Education.  “The students have shown that kindness not only improves our health and wellbeing, it also nurtures a positive school climate, which leads to better results in class by empowering our students to be their best.”
