The St. Clair Catholic District School Board is pleased to announce that Ridge K.I.D.S. Daycare will be the childcare provider at the new St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic School, which is in the final stages of construction on Tweedsmuir Avenue, W., in Chatham.
Construction of the new school will be completed by the end of March 2024. The 564-pupil place school will include a daycare with 49 childcare spaces. The move-in of furniture, equipment and technology will take place during spring and through the summer. The school will open in September 2024 to students and staff in the area served by the current St. Ursula and Georges P. Vanier Catholic schools.
Ridge K.I.D.S. will operate a fully licensed childcare program for Infants, Toddlers and Preschoolers, along with an Extended Day program for Kindergarten children and a Before and After program for students in Grade 1 and higher.
“We are pleased to have been selected as the childcare provider for this beautiful new school,” says Sue Jennings, Director of Ridge K.I.D.S. Daycare. “We have an excellent partnership with St. Clair Catholic and are looking forward to serving the childcare needs of this new community.”
Ridge K.I.D.S. currently offers a before and after school program at St. Michael in Ridgetown; and a fully licenced childcare centre at St. Angela Merici in Chatham, in addition to a before and after school program.
“Ridge K.I.D.S. is a valued childcare partner, and we are pleased to expand our association with them,” says Scott Johnson, Director of Education. “I also want to say a word of thanks to the Ontario government, for the funding that has made this beautiful new school and childcare facility possible.”
