St. Clair Catholic Celebrates Black History Month

During the month of February and throughout the year, classrooms and schools across the
St. Clair district celebrate the achievements of black Canadians and reflect on their stories, experiences, and accomplishments.

The theme for 2024 is Black Excellence: A Heritage to Celebrate; a Future to Build.

“Although Black History Month is an opportunity each year to highlight the tremendous contributions of Black Canadians, their rich history and many accomplishments are part of our students’ learning throughout the year,” says Scott Johnson, Director of Education.

Black History Month is also a time to make connections with local Black communities and develop a deeper understanding of how they have helped to shape Canadian history.
