Flags at the Catholic Education Centre and all St. Clair Catholic schools will remain at half-mast in tribute to the Rt. Hon. Brian Mulroney, 18th Prime Minister of Canada.
Mr. Mulroney died on February 29 at his home in Palm Beach, Florida. He was 84.
He served as Canada’s Prime Minister from 1984 until 1993.
“Mr. Mulroney will be remembered for his pursuit of a Canada that is fair, generous, tolerant and just,” says Scott Johnson, Director of Education. “He leaves a legacy of leadership and public service, both at home and abroad.”
The Government of Canada protocol calls for flags to remain at half-mast until sunset on March 23, the day of Mr. Mulroney’s state funeral, which is to be held in Montreal.
As March 23 falls on a weekend, flags will be returned to full mast on Monday morning, March 25.
