The St. Clair District Catholic Education Foundation has launched the first of eight 50/50 raffles to be held during 2024. The first draw will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024.
Tickets are 3/$5; 10/$10; 30/$20; 150/$50 and can be purchased online by clicking here.
In 2023, more than $42,000 was generated over four draws, with nearly $22,000 awarded in prizes. After fees and advertising, just over $14,000 in net revenue remained, for distribution to schools by the Foundation.
“In 2024, raffle proceeds from four of the draws are ear-marked to support experiential learning and faith-based student leadership opportunities,” says Amy Janssens, the Board’s Associate Director & Treasurer and a director with the Foundation.
Funds are requested by schools, with a detailed plan for spending. Up to $1,000 is available for each school until the proceeds are depleted. Proceeds from the remaining four draws in 2024 will support a fundraising initiative currently underway for a new state-of-the-art track facility at St. Patrick’s Catholic High School.
“Now in our third year with 50/50 draws, the raffles have come to be known as a fun and exciting way to support school initiatives not currently funded by the Ministry of Education,” says Mrs. Janssens. “We always look forward to contacting our jackpot winners with the happy news!”
Participants must be 18 years of age. Foundation committee members, directors and accounting staff are not eligible.
