Playtek Enterprises began work to apply the surface to the new St. Patrick’s Catholic High School track this week.
The goal is to have the new rubber surface installed with line painting completed by the middle of May. This would mean the track facility would be available in time for June events, including the Catholic Elementary School Track and Field.
Playtek Enterprises is a Canadian leader in sports track surfacing and has completed more than 80 facilities across the country.
“We are excited that the project is moving forward,” says Daniella Mancusi, Principal of St. Patrick’s Catholic High School.
A fundraising campaign is currently underway to offset the cost of project upgrades. Proceeds from the St. Clair District Catholic Education Foundation’s upcoming 50/50 draw will support the track fundraising project.
For the safety of staff, students and people who live in the area, the track area remains out-of-bounds from now until project completion.
