St. Clair Catholic Celebrates Catholic Education and Mental Wellness Weeks by Embracing Love and Compassion

In a harmonious convergence of faith and well-being, St. Clair Catholic School Board will observe both Catholic Education Week and Mental Wellness Week with enthusiasm, coinciding from May 6th to 10th. These weeks of celebration offer students and educators a unique opportunity to delve into the profound intersections of healing, love, and compassion within their school and classroom communities.

Themed Called to Love, Catholic Education Week will serve as a profound exploration of the multifaceted nature of love through subthemes of hope, faith, mercy, justice, and joy. Throughout the week-long commemoration, educators will lead students in prayerful exploration using guided discussions, videos, readings, and song. The Most Reverend Gerard Bergie, D.D., Bishop of St. Catharine’s, will celebrate a provincial mass on May 8th at 11:00 am. The live-streamed mass is open to all and is intended to foster collective prayer and reflection.

Mental Wellness Week adopts the theme Healing Through Compassion, emphasizing the pivotal role of empathy and care in fostering individual and communal well-being. Each day of the week is dedicated to exploring distinct facets of compassionate living, from nurturing the inner self to cultivating social connectedness. Mental Wellness Week seeks to underscore the integral link between emotional resilience and compassionate engagement, affirming that #CompassionConnects by fostering supportive and inclusive learning environments.

In recognition of both Catholic Education Week and Mental Wellness Week, positive ‘Mindful Messages’ will be broadcast on Blackburn Radio in Sarnia and Chatham.  The messages were developed by students at Holy Trinity Catholic School in Sarnia and St. Anne Catholic School in Blenheim.

St. Clair Catholic extends a heartfelt invitation to students, educators, and community members to participate in this collective celebration by joining mass on May 8th and exploring resources provided below.
