Dear Residents of Sarnia,

As part of the ongoing construction at the former Gregory A. Hogan Catholic School, located at 1825 Hogan Drive, in Sarnia, we would like to inform you that the presence of asbestos has been confirmed within the existing structure.  Safe removal of the asbestos is necessary before any additional construction activities can proceed.

JoBi Construction Ltd. of Lucan, ON, has been engaged to safely remove and dispose of the asbestos.  The abatement work includes the removing and disposing of materials such as plaster, vinyl composite tiles and mastic, acoustical ceiling tiles, as well as the opening and removal of certain block walls.  The work is scheduled to begin on May 8 and will be finished by May 31, 2024.

JoBi Construction Ltd. will complete the work in compliance with all standards and legislated requirements.  The project will be supervised and monitored by OH Solutions, a company with expertise in environmental health and safety.

At the conclusion of all construction activities, 1825 Hogan Drive is scheduled to become the new location of Sacred Heart Catholic School in Sarnia.
