The St. Clair Catholic District School Board has announced a significant renovation project for the future Sacred Heart Catholic School at 1825 Hogan Drive in Sarnia. Supported by funding from the Ministry of Education, this renovation aims to accommodate the needs of the student community from Sacred Heart Catholic School.
This $3,348,188 renovation will include demolishing the current gymnasium and stage, constructing a new 3,634 sq. ft. gymnasium and stage area, and retrofitting 4,886 sq. ft. of existing interior space to better serve the student community.
“As a father, I understand that the local school really is the heart of the community, and that it’s so important for young families to have a school that’s close to home,” says Todd Smith, Minister of Education. “Our government is listening to hard-working moms and dads, which is why we are delivering this critical expansion at Sacred Heart Catholic School for Sarnia families and more than doubling our funding to $1.3 billion for the largest one-year investment in school building in Ontario history. We are taking action to provide the modern, state-of-the-art schools that students, families and communities deserve.”
“We are thrilled to receive approval for this project from the Ministry of Education,” said Amy Janssens, Associate Director of Corporate Services. “The new facilities will greatly enhance the learning environment for our students and support the needs of the Sacred Heart Catholic School community. This investment underscores our commitment to providing quality education in modern, well-equipped spaces.”
