On June 10th, students and staff at Holy Trinity Catholic School in Sarnia participated in Wellness Day, an event dedicated to promoting both physical and mental well-being. Throughout the day, staff and students participated in games, workshops, meditation, and self-reflection exercises that enhanced their leadership skills and self-regulation. These activities were part of a broader initiative to emphasize wellness in school.
“We wanted to create an environment where students could explore different ways to support their overall well-being,” said Principal Kerri Jordan. “By incorporating activities that focus on self-reflection and leadership, we aim to equip our students with the tools they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom.”
Community partners, including Lambton Public Health and Ironworks, enriched the day by providing exciting learning opportunities and diverse perspectives. The festivities included outdoor activities, art stations, door prizes, and refreshments. The celebration continued beyond the school day with an event for parents and families from 3:30 to 5:30 PM, attracting over 300 Holy Trinity community members! Attendees engaged in meaningful discussions on supporting their children’s health, showcasing the community’s dedication to fostering a nurturing environment.
“Wellness Day is a shining example of how schools can enrich students’ lives by promoting their overall health and wellness,” said Scott Johnson, Director of Education. “It’s heartwarming to see our community come together in support of such meaningful initiatives, and it’s crucial that we continue to champion these efforts.”
“We are grateful to our community partners and to all the parents who participated,” Mrs. Jordan added. “Their involvement underscores our shared dedication to the health and happiness of our children.”
