Terry Maxwell Announced as Catholic Education Foundation 50/50 Draw Winner

In a heartwarming turn of events, Terry Maxwell, a former student and retired teacher from St. Patrick’s Catholic High School, has been announced as the winner of the most recent 50/50 raffle, taking home a payout of $6,520.00.

The raffle, held over the month of May, aimed to support the development of a state-of-the-art track and field facility at St. Pat’s. The funds raised will help pay for this premier athletic space for students and athletes across Sarnia-Lambton. This new facility will be accessible to the wider community and designed to accommodate individuals of all abilities.

Terry Maxwell, who also served as a coach for the Track Team during his tenure at St. Patrick’s, expressed his enthusiasm for the project. “I think it’s a good idea and that it will benefit the community overall,” said Maxwell. “Hopefully, the track is utilized by the surrounding community. I think it’s a drawing card for people to come and workout, and for staff to help out with coaching,”

The raffle garnered a total online sales volume of $13,040.00, with half of the proceeds going to Maxwell and the other half supporting the new facility. Participants in the raffle had to be 18 years of age, and Foundation Committee members, directors, and accounting staff were not eligible to participate.

This raffle is just the beginning, as organizers are already planning the next draw. Community members are encouraged to join the fun and support outstanding learning opportunities in Catholic education, ensuring that everyone wins.

Stay tuned for more information and updates on future raffles.
