St. Teresa of Calcutta’s KinderSTARs Enjoy Fun-Filled Welcome at Kinderstart Event

On August 27, 2024, St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic School warmly welcomed its newest students and their families at the inaugural Kinderstart event. The gathering provided incoming kindergarteners, affectionately known as the “kinderSTARs,” with the opportunity to explore their future classrooms and outdoor play areas, setting the stage for their upcoming school experience.

Families were greeted by their teachers, Early Childhood Educators (ECEs), Educational Assistants (EAs), as well as the school principal, Sara Vadovic and vice principal, Alishia Thompson. This first Kinderstart event offered a unique chance for families to connect with school staff and administration, laying the foundation for strong partnerships between home and school.

Principal Sara Vadovic expressed her excitement, stating, “It was wonderful to see our newest students exploring their future environment and meeting their teachers. Kinderstart is all about building confidence and creating a positive beginning for school life. We’re thrilled to have such a promising start for our kinderSTARs!”

Superintendent of Education, Lisa Demers highlighted the day’s importance, saying, “The Kinderstart event was a pivotal moment for our students and their families. It allowed us to build meaningful connections early on and ensure that every kindergarten student is well-prepared for a successful start to the school year.”

Kinderstart was designed to engage families in a positive and interactive experience, fostering early connections and identifying potential needs that students might have before the school year begins. As St. Teresa of Calcutta prepares to open its doors to the broader school community next week, the Kinderstart event served as a delightful preview for the school’s littlest learners.

Parents appreciated the opportunity to see the school, while the children enjoyed exploring their new environment. The day was filled with useful information, shared resources, and strengthened connections, offering a promising start to the school career of these budding stars.

Looking ahead, families and students from all grades will have an opportunity to engage with the school and staff at the school’s Open House event, scheduled for later in September. The open house will provide the entire school community with a chance to further explore the school environment and continue building relationships with teachers and staff.
