Empowering Change: The Saidat Show Inspires Students at St. Teresa of Calcutta

On October 23, St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic School hosted The Saidat Show, a dynamic performance that inspired and energized students across all grades. With a morning session for JK to Grade 3 and an afternoon session for Grades 4 to 8, the event left a lasting impression on the entire school community.

Saidat, the first Black Canadian female children’s entertainer, led the assemblies with her captivating approach, combining inspiration, entertainment, and interactive challenges. Her core message—”One person can make a difference. Together we can change the world!”—resonated strongly with students.

During the morning performance, St. Teresa’s primary students explored the importance of kindness and respect in their school community. With the help of her “Energy Crew,” Saidat used music, scenarios, and hands-on activities to demonstrate how small acts of kindness can spark positive change, creating an inclusive atmosphere where every student feels valued.

With St. Teresa’s older students, Saidat focused on how their actions shape the school environment. Through motivational discussions and teamwork challenges, she provided Grades 4 to 8 with practical strategies to enhance their school experience and foster a supportive community.

“We were delighted to welcome Saidat to our school. Her powerful message of empowerment and positivity was exactly what our students needed,” said Sara Vadovic, principal of St. Teresa of Calcutta. “Her performance not only inspired our students to embrace kindness but also challenged them to actively work together in building a more inclusive and supportive school community.”

By the end of the day, students left feeling inspired and more aware of the impact of kindness and collaboration. The Saidat Show was a memorable event, sparking a sense of unity and encouraging students to carry the message of positivity and inclusivity into their everyday interactions within their classrooms and communities.
