Students and staff from Good Shepherd joined members of the Thamesville community for a solemn Remembrance Day service at the Thamesville Cenotaph. The ceremony, organized in collaboration with the Thamesville Legion Branch 367, included representatives from Chatham-Kent Police Service, Chatham-Kent Fire Services, and three levels of government.
The service honored the sacrifices of those who have served and continue to serve in Canada’s armed forces. Good Shepherd students Ella P and Emily V participated in the wreath-laying ceremony, representing their school with pride and respect.
“Our students gain a profound understanding of the importance of remembrance through ceremonies like these,” said Liz Gibson, Principal of Good Shepherd. “It’s a privilege to stand together as a community to honor the sacrifices made for our freedom.”
The event reflected the school’s commitment to fostering a sense of gratitude and respect for Canada’s veterans and active service members.
