Good Shepherd Catholic School in Thamesville is at the heart of an exciting new initiative to bring the community together. Beginning this fall, the South-Kent Family of Parishes is hosting a Youth Sports and Games Night at the school. The program, open to all youth in Grades 7 to 12, kicked off on Tuesday, November 19, and will continue every other Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. until May.
This free program offers something for everyone. The gym will host a variety of sports, while the community room will feature snacks, Bible studies, and board games. The goal is to provide a welcoming space for young people to connect, grow in faith, and have fun.
“We’re thrilled to partner with the South-Kent Family of Parishes on this important initiative,” said Liz Gibson, Principal of Good Shepherd. “Programs like this strengthen community bonds and offer our youth a safe, welcoming, and supportive space to grow.”
Scott Johnson, Director of Education, echoed the enthusiasm. “This program is a wonderful opportunity for faith and friendship to flourish through physical activity and shared experiences.”
The Youth Sports and Games Night is an exciting addition to the Thamesville community, providing youth with a chance to form lasting friendships, explore their faith, and stay active in a positive environment.
