Skating Fun and Festive Cheer: Holy Family’s Grade 7/8s Hit the Ice!

On December 19th, Holy Family’s Grade 7/8 students enjoyed a festive outing to the Wallaceburg Memorial Arena, kicking off the holiday season in style. Bundled up in cozy winter gear, they took a brisk walk through the streets of Wallaceburg, relishing the fresh winter air in their own community.

Once at the rink, students had the ice to themselves for a special skating session. Some practiced their figure and hockey skating skills, while others embraced the opportunity to try something new. Regardless of their abilities, laughter and excitement filled the rink as students glided across the ice, making the most of every moment. The afternoon also included hot chocolate and treats, giving students a chance to socialize and create lasting memories before the Christmas break.

“This was a fantastic field trip for our students,” said Zak Rybansky, Grade 7/8 teacher. “Not only did they enjoy skating and spending time together, but it was also a great way to explore our neighbourhood and get into the holiday spirit.”

The event was the perfect way for the students to celebrate the season, embracing the winter weather and community spirit before heading into their well-deserved break.
