Students from St. Angela Merici and St. Joseph, Tilbury, captivated audiences with their remarkable performances in the 2024 CBC Music Class Challenge. Their participation highlighted the incredible creativity, dedication, and musical talent across all grades.

At St. Angela Merici, students embraced a diverse musical selection, performing the Mohawk song Yohahi:yo (The Good Road) with heartfelt expression. They also delivered energetic renditions of Life Is by Arkells and the inspiring You Can Be Anything by Jeremy and Jazzy. Every class from JK to Grade 8 participated, with memorable contributions from “The Sammies” and a full-school singalong that brought the community together.

At St. Joseph, Tilbury, the enthusiasm was equally palpable. Each grade offered unique interpretations of the songs, ranging from intimate class performances to a collaborative full-school effort. “The Joeys” earned special recognition for their spirited performance, showcasing the joy and energy of music-making.

“The students’ dedication and talent have been amazing to see,” said Jacquelyn McGlynn, Music Specialist with St. Clair Catholic. “The CBC Music Class Challenge is a great chance for students to grow as musicians while celebrating Canadian music.”

“I am beyond proud of our students and their outstanding performances,” said Juli Faubert, Principal of St. Angela Merici. “This experience has showcased their talents and the pure joy that music brings to our school community.”
